The Mercedes 0 3500 was the first omnibus developed by Daimler Benz AG after the war and produced at the Mannheim plant.
Incidentally, the ‘O’ stood for omnibus, while the letter ‘L’ stood for lorry. The 6-cylinder engine had a displacement of 4580 cm³, produced 90 hp and reached a top speed of 82 kilometres per hour.
A total of 6049 units of the O 3500 were built between 1949 and 1955. This made the O 3500 the most successful bus of its time.
