Gears, steam, Victorian fashion – plus illuminated facades and a town hall that transforms into a sparkling time portal. 
On 13 November 2026, we are planning something very special in Remagen together with the agency Funkelglanz Events & Booking: a steampunk evening market with a long shopping evening in the colourfully illuminated city centre. Let yourself be enchanted by artistic illuminations, imaginative walk acts and steampunk magic.

What exactly is steampunk? 
Steampunk is a form of retro-futurism that imagines what the world would be like if modern technology had been developed with the aesthetics and technical standards of the 19th century (especially the Victorian era). The steam engine is often at the centre of this – hence the name ‘steam’ + ‘punk’ (as a rebellion against the modern norm).
