You can fortify yourself with Quetschekuche, pumpkin pancakes, potato pancakes, Pfälzer Saumagen or hearty bratwurst. Hearty farmer's ham, steamed dumplings with wine sauce, tarte flambée and lard sandwiches are also on the menu. Homemade sausage, lamb specialities, Alsatian salami, handmade cheese and onion tart are also very popular.
To accompany your meal, treat yourself to a glass of excellent ‘Old’ or ‘New’ Palatinate wine or sparkling wine from Palatinate cellars. A fruity brandy made from sun-kissed Palatinate fruit is the highlight of a culinary visit to the farmer´s market.
Who doesn't get their mouth watering at the thought of freshly harvested fruit and vegetables, fruit juices, nuts, honey, mead, goat or horse sausage... Numerous demonstrations of traditional rural crafts can be seen. These range from felting to wood turning, blacksmithing, pottery, broom and brush making, basket weaving and latwerge stirring.
Delicious poultry, oils, vinegar, mustard, bread, pasta, eggs, cheese, jellies and herbs can be found here.
And all from local production, grown conventionally or organically.
